It works real well, I've used it for a long time on all of the saws I've built, rebuilt, pieced together, etc. Also use it on my dirt bike, motorcycle, and quad projects where this type sealer is designated for use instead of a gasket.

Feb 09, 2017· If I think the seal may be questionable I'll put a little red loctite on a q-tip and apply a thin coat to lightly lubricate the case surface which in turn seals any areas needed. Though it sure is a *b-word getting a seal back out that's been glued in.

Jun 24, 2011· After some experimenting, I agree, the correct materiel to seal the cases are a product manufactured for the application. Threebond 1194, Yamabond, Suzuki Bond, and Hondabond are all good products. What is important is not to use too much so it gets in the cases and the oil system, and letting the sealant material cure the correct amount of time.

I have used several things at a race when this has happened including (Devcon if time to cure is posible )or silicone if time is short. They are only temporary solutions.

Jul 24, 2013· Hondabond, Yamabond, Threebond 1104, Threebond 1194 (subsituted 1104), and Permatex Ultra Grey are all the same thing and will work great for sealing up a crankcase or cylinder base. Threebond 1211 can also be used, but its near 3X the cost and not really needed.
