We took the train from Aberdeen and stayed in an hotel near Russell Square. I was keen to see the exhibition for the First Emperor, China's Terracotta Army at the British Museum in London before it finished in April.

I'm guessing that at the British Museum it will be possible to get much nearer to the warriors than one can in Xi'an. We saw the warriors "in situ" over twenty years ago not long after the Chinese opened the site to the public and then at least one stood on a walkway looking down at the warriors in the trenches which had been excavated - it really wasn't possible to get that close.
