Players wishing to acquire Pyrite will have to look to the higher level zones where Elementium ore is present which are Deepholm, Uldum, and Twilight Highlands. Twilight Highlands will be the best zone to get Pyrite in because it is the highest level zone but players will want to be level 84-85 while attempting it.

Locations. Pyrite is found only in the highest tiers of Cataclysm zones, those being the Twilight Highlands and Uldum (more frequent in the former). Rich Pyrite Deposits are only found in Tol Barad (both in the peninsula and the battleground-area). Both types are rare spawned nodes off Elementium, though they appear to occur more frequently than previous rare nodes.

Elementium Ore. Elementium Ore is the higher level of the two Cataclysm ores. It can be farmed in Deepholm, Twilight Highlands and Uldum. Twilight Highlands is often the least farmed area for this. Deepholm can vary based on the server. Uldum tends to attract many bots and is often very over farmed.
