my asphalt driveway is rising

Should I get my asphalt driveway paved in a week or wait until next spring? I was supposed to get my driveway repaved the first week of August, but due to some personal issues my contractor had we ended up being delayed. They ripped out the old driveway and put down an initial layer of base and compacted it 3 weeks ago.
