Re: Grinding wheel size for a Oneway Wolverine sharpening system I agree with Billh, but I will add one thing: I have a Norton 3X and a white wheel on my grinder. The white wheel is great for skews, plane blades and bevel edge chisels; basically wider tools that will not cause a hollow on the stone as easily.

Vari-Grind Setting Jigs. The other important measurement for repeatable grinds is the Vari-grind arm setting. My "gun" shaped jigs fit in the Vari-Grind just like a gouge. The dowel is 5/8" like most of my bowl gouges, with a flat cut where the flutes are so I don't have to mess around with the Vari-grind's clamp screw to insert the gun.
